What beautiful places and amazing photography!
This photo is from Peratallada, a medieval village in the Girona province, in Catalonia. It looks like little has changed in the urban morphology since medieval times; It is a pleasure to walk around the cobbled. As a curiosity, the name of the city is derived from “Pedra tallada”, meaning ‘carved stone.’ Almost all the buildings were built with stone carved from the fosse which still encircles parts of this small fortified town. I recently visit Siurana, a village with a lot of history and legends around it. Located at the top of an escarpment in the Prades Mountains has amazing views, with the Siurana Reservoir on one side, and the Montsant Mountain range on the other side of the village. I took this photo in Pals, in the North-Est of Catalonia. When I started walking inside this medieval village I got surprised by nice cobbled streets, stone arches, and the well preserved houses with their Romanesque and Gothic doorways and windows... It’s like getting straight back to the middle ages!Do you like this photo? Get a Print or download it as Free HD Wallpaper
