This photo is from La Serra dels Bufadors, a mountain range located near Santa Maria de Besora in Catalonia. This is a unique place with a fragile micro-ecosystem. At some point, the mountain cracked and split apart, creating a corridor between the peaks. When you enter the corridor, you feel like you have been transported to a different place, with different weather, different vegetation, and different trees than the ones in the surrounding areas. The Tanneries Neighborhood (“Les Adoberies” in Catalan) is located in the historical center of the city of Vic. It symbolizes both one of the most important periods of the Osona capital and the growth of the region’s tannery industry. There are documents related to tannery activity from the 12th century, and during the 14th century it became very popular in the area. However, it wasn’t until the 18th century that the Guild of Tanners decided to group all the activity and construct the actual Tanneries Neighborhood.Do you like this photo? The sculpture L'Estel Ferit (“The Wounded Shooting Star”) created by the German artist Rebecca Horn pays tribute to Barcelona's fishing district, the Barceloneta, and has become one of its iconic landmarks. The sculpture consists of four twisted cubes, stacked seemingly at random. Most people refer to this popular landmark as “the cubes,” and it is a clear reflection of Barcelona's penchant for groundbreaking art during the Olympic period.Do you like this photo?
