This reservoir is located inside Montseny Natural Park; it was constructed in 1935 to provide electricity to a nearby luxury hotel. Pere Domènech I Pou was the architect responsible for the design and he did great work—the reservoir is integrated into the landscape and almost looks like a natural lake. This is the interior of the Montserrat Abbey; in the Mountain of Montserrat, famous for the statue of the Black Virgin of Montserrat (“La Moreneta” in Catalan), which means “the One with a Black Face.” According to the legend, shepherds discovered the statue in 880 AD. They saw a bright light and heard heavenly music that eventually led them to a grotto and the statue. A few days ago, I went to Barcelona hoping to photograph the Agbar Tower at night. Because I arrived early and had enough time to explore the surroundings, I discovered the new design museum (“Museu del Disseny” in Catalan) and decided to take a few photos before it was too dark. The museum was inaugurated on the first day of January. It holds a collection of 70,000 pieces that were previously housed in museums devoted to different aspects of design: textiles and fashion, graphics, ceramics, and decorative arts.
