Pont del Petroli (Badalona, Catalonia)

I took this photo a few moments before the sunrise. The bridge is a landmark in Badalona City: the original bridge was a wood structure constructed in 1879 for the local company Suari and Canals to unload petrol from ships. Sunken Palace or Basilica Cistern (Istanbul, Turkey)

The Basilica Cistern, or Yerebatan Sarayı (“sunken palace” in Turkish), is the largest covered cistern in Istanbul City. When I entered the cistern, I could not believe it: the place is enormous! At 140 m x 70 m, it could hold 80,000 cubic meters of water. It is supported by 336 columns and many carp and goldfish swim around the base of these columns. Do you like this photo? There is nothing more enjoyable than a watching a sunrise, even better if you can do it from an idyllic place like Tossa de Mar. That morning I had to get up so early to get there with enough time to capture this photo. Museu del Disseny (Barcelona, Catalonia)

A few days ago, I went to Barcelona hoping to photograph the Agbar Tower at night. Because I arrived early and had enough time to explore the surroundings, I discovered the new design museum (“Museu del Disseny” in Catalan) and decided to take a few photos before it was too dark. The museum was inaugurated on the first day of January. It holds a collection of 70,000 pieces that were previously housed in museums devoted to different aspects of design: textiles and fashion, graphics, ceramics, and decorative arts. I take this photo in Salou, the Capital of the Costa Daurada. It is from The Promenade Jaume I; one of the busies places, and also an important part of the city’s seafront. The Houses on the River Onyar (Girona, Catalonia)

Girona is a great city to visit because it offers spectacular images: from steep alleyways, streets lined with porticos, interesting squares, and the Cathedral, there is much to see. Nanxiang Ancient Town (Shanghai, China)

Recently I assisted on a race in Shanghai, my hotel was located close to the Nanxiang Ancient Town in the Jiading District. Walking those old streets at night was like being sent back in time. The old houses, the small bridges, and the water canals create an amazing combination. The Jiading Fahua Pagoda Tower, which you can see reflected in the water on the left side of the photo was constructed during the Song Dynasty between 1205 and 1207. Jiading Confucius Temple (Shanghai, China)

Not far from Nanxiang Town is the Jiading Confucius Temple. I was not able to visit it during the day, but I was happy I was able to capture this beautiful gate at night. Jiading is known as a “state of education” and the Confucius Temple stands as the source. Sunrise at Platja de la Mar Menuda - II (Tossa de Mar, Catalonia)

Getting up early in the morning can be a hard choice. But the truth is that in some occasions the effort is more than justified. Some time ago I was in Tossa de Mar, a small medieval town located in the Costa Brava. The place is so beautiful, and I had the opportunity to contemplate a magnificent sunrise between these rocks from the Mar Menuda Beach.⠀

The Puigmal seen from the ‘Collet de les Barraques’ (Catalan Pyrenees)

Recently, I was foraging for mushrooms near the ‘El Collet de les Barraques’ in the Catalan Pyrenees. I wasn’t very lucky with the mushrooms, but I was happily surprised by green tones of the season on the landscape. On the left, you can see the peak of The Puigmal. A few days ago I was visiting Peratallada, a fortified town in the Girona Province where most of the buildings were built from the stone carved from the fosse or moat which still encircles the village. I was afraid to miss the sunrise but I arrived just in time to photograph the sun rising from behind the 13th-century church dedicated to Sant Esteve (Saint Stephen) outside the town walls. Path Between Trees (Fageda d’en Jordà, Catalonia)

A few weeks ago I was visiting the Fageda d’en Jordà with a friend. The forest wasn’t in the best autumn colors but besides that we had a great time chatting and strolling around this unique place. The forest is part of the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of the Garrotxa Territory. If you like nature, I definitely recommend making a visit to this beautiful forest. You will enjoy it! A few days ago I was visiting “La Cala de Roques Planes” in Sant Antoni de Calonge. It’s a beautiful cove with small beach and large rocks where tourist, and swimmers enjoy their summer time taking sunbath and refreshing dips into the crystalline waters. Some time ago, I visited the Santa Fe Water Reservoir. It’s located inside the Montseny Natural Park, which is a beautiful place to visit year round. Before reaching the reservoir, you have to walk side by side with ‘La Riera de Santa Fe,’ a small stream of water responsible for filling it. A Window to The Mediterranean Sea, Altafulla (Catalonia)

Last week I visited Altafulla; I was there to capture the sunrise from the houses in front of the sea of this small town. However, on my way to the beach I saw this magnificent window to The Mediterranean Sea. I loved the beautiful colors on the sky, the textures on the eroded walls, and the puddles on the stone pavement mixed with the familiar smell of the sea.
